Halloween Chocolate Crispy Monsters (Gluten-Free)

Makes 6 Halloween Chocolate Crispy Monsters

Chocolate Eyes:

Adapted from Nourishing Meals

Rice Crispy Squares:

For the Chocolate Eyes:

  1. Melt the cacao butter over low heat. Add to a blender with cashew butter, honey, vanilla, salt, and blend on high until smooth.

  2. Line a small tray with parchment paper. Using a piping bag (Don’t have one? Make one at home!), squeeze out the white chocolate into at least 12 small circles on to the parchment paper.

  3. Next, place a chocolate chip in the centre of each white chocolate circle to complete the chocolate eyes.

  4. Place in the freezer to harden quickly.

For the Rice Crispy Squares:

  1. Remove the rice crispy squares from the packaging.

  2. Melt chocolate chips using a double broiler.

  3. While the chocolate chips are melting, line a tray with parchment paper for your rice crispy squares.

  4. Dip or spoon the chocolate on to the top half of each crispy square. Allow some of it to drip down a little bit for a spooky effect.

  5. Place back in the freezer to harden the chocolate quickly.

  6. Once the chocolate has hardened, stick two eyes to each crispy square by spreading a tiny bit of the leftover chocolate behind each eye to act as glue.

  7. Store at room temperature and enjoy!

Halloween Witches’ Fingers (Raw, Vegan, Gluten-Free)

Makes 8 fingers

  1. In a food processor, blend almonds until it becomes a fine powder

  2. Add in all ingredients except for blanched almonds and blend until it becomes a dough (If too dry, slowly add more dates and almond butter)

  3. Line a sheet with parchment paper

  4. Roll dough into finger shapes with hands and place almond slice at the tip for the fingernail

  5. Store in the fridge or at room temperature

PSST… If you want to get even spookier, play around with some strawberry or raspberry jam around the fingernail as fake blood!

Halloween Banana Ghosts (Gluten-Free, Vegan Option)

Adapted by Well Plated

Makes 8 ghosts

Banana Ghosts:

  • 4 large ripe bananas

  • 1 cup nonfat Greek vanilla yoghurt, or similar dairy-free yoghurt for a vegan option

  • 2 tablespoons Healthy Powdered Sugar (see below)

  • MadeGood Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (for eyes)

  • 8 popsicle sticks

Healthy Powdered Sugar:

½ cup organic whole cane sugar + 1 tbsp arrowroot powder blended until powder

  1. If you haven’t already, make your Healthy Powdered Sugar

  2. Line a tray with parchment paper. Peel the bananas and slice each in half, crosswise. Slice in half again the long way so that there is one flat side which will act as the back of the ghost. Insert a popsicle stick into the bottom of each (do this carefully so the banana doesn’t break!).

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the yoghurt and healthy powdered sugar. Dip each banana into the yoghurt mixture, then place on the lined baking sheet. Place 2 chocolate chips on each of the ghosts for the eyes.

  4. Place in the freezer for at least 1 hour to allow the yoghurt to set.

  5. Store in freezer. Before eating, let them thaw for a few minutes and enjoy!
