How-To Guide: New Years 2016 Recovery
First come the holidays and then comes New Years Eve. Through all of it we run wild with sweet treats, rich meals, and (probably) a few too many cocktails. We get it, and we're not judging. It's a part of life! But there comes a time, and we're sure we can all agree, that the need for a post-holiday detox is necessary. This doesn't have to mean extreme juice cleanses or 18 thousand mile hikes everyday. Making a few small changes each day can help ease you back into your regular routine. Here's a few of our favorite products that help us feel our best every day.
Not your typical "recovery" product, but an essential! Boody is one of our newest product lines and is made from organic bamboo. The result is incredibly soft and comfortable active wear. Having breatheable, comfortable, and also stylish active wear is not only enjoyable for the actual workout, but is motivating when it comes to peeling yourself off the couch.
We know you know breakfast is non-negotiable when it comes to your health. This breakfast topper is packed with coconut, sunflower, chia, cinnamon, flax, quinoa, and cacao, which not only adds a hint of chocolatey flavour to your meals, but a mega-dose of antioxidants. This is a great compromise if what you're really craving is left over butter tarts. It can be added to yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes, smoothies and so much more.
Again, no judgement, but after a long-haul of over indulgence it's safe to say our livers need a little extra help. This is basically a multi-vitamin for the liver, providing support for improved liver function and protection.
Smoothies are a great way to satisfy cravings while nourishing your body. Fermented proteins are easy to digest, support immune function, and contain an essential balance of amino accids. With 20g of dietary protein per serving, this will leave you satisfied and ready to get moving. Throw in a handfull of berries or a banana for extra antioxidants and flavour.
It's unrealistic to cut out snacking, especially while detoxing from snack-filled holidays. The key here is to replace the sweet or salty treats with a healthy, yet delicious alternative. Packed with 7 grams of protein and 8 grams of fibre per serving, these are also a source of Omega-3 polyunsaturated fats. Before you know it your body will have long forgotten the nutrient-deficient holidaze.
