Valentine’s Day with Vitarock: Chocolate Avocado Mousse (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Refined-Sugar Free)
Valentine’s Day is almost here, and what better way to impress someone special than with chocolate mousse for dessert? It’s rich, smooth and romantic - all the qualities you need in a dessert on this special day.
If you’ve never made a chocolate mousse with avocado before, prepare to surprise yourself and your loved one (and I’m not just talking about the aphrodisiac properties of chocolate). This dessert is so creamy and decadent, you’ll never guess that it’s made with avocado! It’ll also be one of the easiest desserts you’ve ever made. The best part? It’s made from wholesome, natural ingredients, and is naturally vegan, gluten-free and refined-sugar free.
2 ripe avocados
¼ cup cacao powder
¼ cup milk of choice (we used almond milk)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 tbsp of sweetener of choice (we used Drizzle Raw Cacao Luxe Honey, yum!)
⅛ tsp of sea salt
Cacao nibs (for a little crunch!)
Blend everything together until smooth, stopping when needed to scrape down the sides
Taste test as you go! If you want it thinner, slowly add in more milk. If you want it a bit sweeter, slowly add in more sweetener until it’s just right
Divide between two bowls, add toppings and enjoy!
