Everything is Coming Up Roses!

Roses were one of the original skin care products, historically saved for those in high society. But rose has gotten a hip makeover, and it’s nothing like your grandma’s little rose soaps.

With a select few natural skin care lines now offering rose-based products, more of us are enjoying the many benefits of roses. At Vitarock, we have a few favourite ways we like to use these products.

Clear and Calm Red, Irritated Skin

Rosacea and acne can cause your skin to look quite red (and sometimes even blue). Try using rose-based products and you’re likely to see some great results. Rose can drastically reduce the signs of rosacea. The best place to start is with a toner, like Thayer’s Rose Petal Witch Hazel withAloe. We also love Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Kit,  a complete starter kit that is also great to travel with.

Keep Calm & Rose On

Using a drop or two of Aura Cacia Rose Otto Oil, you can create calmness on-the-go. Rose essential oil has been known to soothe nerves. With mild sedative properties, it’s also a great oil to add to your bedtime routine. Add two drops on a tissue, and slide into your pillowcase.

Refresh with Rose

Feeling hot, sweaty, red in the face? Spritz on Thayer’s Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe  and adios, redness!  Carry a small spritz with you, and use during the day as needed. It is super refreshing and the aloe leaves your skin feeling silky smooth.   You can also stay floral fresh, by using Weleda’s Wild Rose Deodorant,  great to spritz all over your body too.

Potent Antioxidant & Immune System Support

Rosehips are one of the highest sources of Vitamin C. They provide a high source of antioxidants, making it a true Superfood. They make a great whole food source of Vitamin C, and you can easily combine in a green drink shake.  Genesis Today GenEssentials Greens is a great source of rosehips & greens.

So even when life isn’t coming up roses, you can still enjoy the benefits of these beauties  - you deserve it!
