Face Masks: The Unsung Beauty Hero

Of the daily skincare tasks, a few usual suspects come to mind: cleansing, moisturizing ( and hopefully exfoliating!), but one that often flies under the radar is the age-old face mask. Usually associated with lounging at the spa with cucumbers on ones eyelids, the face mask is often brushed aside as a luxurious after thought. But I am here to say such is not the case! Masks are a powerful tool in our skincare arsenal and should be treated as such.

Why We Should All Be Using Face Masks

When it comes to skincare and skin improvement, you have to show it some commitment. Id love to say that using a produce once will make you a whole new person, but unfortunately our skin doesn't operate on that sort of accelerated schedule. The building blocks of the ultimate skincare routine can be broken down into three steps (which I outlined here), but can benefit from the addition of a face mask 1-3 times a week. With consistent use, face masks are able to target very specific skin concerns and cause vast improvement. Weather you battle acne, extremely dry skin, or a combination of concerns, face masks should be considered your secret skincare weapon. If you don't have active concerns, masks are still a great way to deliver antioxidants, moisture, and nutrients feeding your skin while fighting signs of aging.

Face Masks for Acne, Anti-Aging and More

Aubrey Organics Clarifying Therapy Clay Mask for Oily & Acne Prone Skin

This is a fantastic choice for anyone prone to breakouts or consistently battling oily skin. This balancing mask cleans deep, drawing impurities out of your pores to reveal clear and healthy skin. Gentle exfoliation helps to renew cells and reduce oil without aggravating the skin or leading to further breakout.

Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Glycolic Brightening Mask

If improving tone and texture is your concern, you'll want to get up close and personal with this mask. Its a blend of organic pumpkin and Manuka honey, along with citrus glycolic AHA which dissolves and lifts dead surface cells. The result is exfoliated and resurfaced skin, revealing an even tone and smoother texture. Your complexion will be brighter and more luminous thanks to the addition of the unique Fruit Stem Cell Complex.

zorah sublime Anti-Aging Night Treatment

Your anti-aging regime will thank you for this night treatment. It's packed full of Vitamin E, which contains Omega 3, 6, & 9  and contains 10% Hyaluronic acid. This will actually allow you skin to retain moisture over time, which is essential for delaying the aging process while also diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Burts Bees Intense Hydration Treatment Mask & Intense Hydration Eye Cream

Simply put, this mask will deliver on its promise which is intense hydration. If you suffer from chronically dry skin try implementing this into your routine 1-3 times per week. It aids your skin in its ability to retain moisture, thus truly working to improve the condition of your skin. Finish with the intense hydration eye cream, which will protect the sensitive area around your eyes and fend off impending fine lines.

Redmond Clay

This clay should considered ones trusty standby in the mask world! Whether you have sensitive, rosacea or eczema-prone skin, this pure clay (seriously, there is nothing else in it) has been used for centuries for a wide variety of ailments (including non-skin related issues). The clay is sourced in Utah and is a white sodium and mineral rich source found deep within the earth. Weather you want to sooth sensitive skin or simply rejuvenate and feed your skin, this is a great anytime option.
