Monday Meal Idea: Peanut Butter & Cacao Smoothie


There's really nothing better than the perfect smoothie. This holds especially true as we head into summer. The best options are the perfect balance of fibre, protein, healthy fats and of course a variety of nutrients and vitamins. Lucky for us, this delish recipe fits the bill! The superstars here are the peanut butter and cacao. Our Organic Traditions Cacao powder is a true super food as a source of Magnesium, Iron, Zinc, Fibre and a ton of antioxidants. It's also a great energy booster, meaning you can forgo your mid-afternoon cup of coffee! It's also a great source of fibre and protein, meaning it will fill you up and reduce the likelihood of unnecessary snacking. Personally I like this smoothie as a late-afternoon post-workout option, but it can also make for a great breakfast. 



Peanut Butter-Cacao Smoothie Ingredients:


1 Frozen Banana
2 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter (feel free to substitute with almond butter as well)
1 Tablespoon of Cacao Powder
1/2 Cup unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (choose a fortified option)
1 Tablespoon Raw Organic Honey
A sprinkle of organic cinnamon 





Simply blend each of the ingredients together and garnish with a sprinkling of organic cinnamon! Feel free to experiment with other additions such as adding shredded coconut, a tablespoon of coconut oil or using varying milk alternatives. Have fun and enjoy!
