Office Obsession: Real Health Super Foods

Real Health Super Foods:

It’s likely safe to say we’ve all heard about the famed “super foods” time and time again. Known for their vast quantity of minerals, vitamins, and dense antioxidant content, super foods are known as the holy grail of the food world. With hundreds of articles outlining just how to add them to your diet, it’s not difficult to pinpoint the best of the best options. But how much kale can one really consume in a day? And how much dark chocolate is really healthy? The fact is it’s hard to consume a high enough quantity of specific foods in order to reap the full benefits.

When we were introduced to Real Health Super Foods (or RHSF as we prefer) our team was immediately intrigued. Convenient packets of pure super foods designed to deliver 10x the amount of antioxidants as a serving of vegetables? Was this the answer to our super food dreams? Turns out, it pretty much was! RHSF is a line of 10 products, some of which are “toppers,” to be added to your recipes, while others can be used in juices or smoothies.

The VitaGuide to Real Health Super Foods

We’ve been mixing up various concoctions on the daily with our favorite RHSF around the office. From the Cacao powder to the Salad Toppers, we’ve got a variety of ways to use and make the most of these nutrient packed goods.

Organic Cacao Powder

As with most things, all Cacao is not created equal! This is a raw form which means none of the nutrition is lost due to processing. It contains 16x more antioxidants than blueberries, 4x more iron than spinach, and 2x more magnesium than almonds, and to top it off 2x more fibre than oats. It’s also organic so you can be rest assured its void of pesticides, preservatives, or chemicals.

Monday Meal Idea: Chai Tea Smoothie #chai #smoothie #recipe:

This particular option is wildly multi-useful. One of our staffers started adding a teaspoon to each of his coffees in the morning. The idea caught on and now at any given moment you can spot a number of us creating a cacao—superfood-coffee. Add in a little coconut milk and you’ve got yourself a modern day antioxidant mocha! Alternatively, our founder, Alicja, created a matcha tea + cacao + African Honey beverage. Melt a square of ChocoSol Vanilla + Sea Salt chocolate into it for a decadent, guilt-free option. Aside from sipping your cacao, you can also include it in baking recipes, oatmeal, or basically anything you want to contain a hint of chocolate-y goodness.

Breakfast Topper

The new way to supercharge your morning! A personal favorite,  Breakfast Topper is a blend of coconut, sunflower seeds, chia, cinnamon, brown flaxseed, quinoa, cacao, and pumpkin seeds. Adding a spoon or so of this to my morning yogurt (along with PURE blueberries) is a preferred method, but adding to your oatmeal, pancakes, cereal (and basically all other forms of breakfasts or baked goods) are all suitable ways to enjoy the added texture and chocolate-y flavour and mega-dose of healthy fats and antioxidants.

Salad Topper

Another office favourite, Salad Topper can make a greens lover out of just about anyone. A savoury mix of herbs like rosemary and pepitas along with kale, spinach, and sea salt makes this an enticing option for your average salad, stir fry, or even as a topper on toast! As a self-proclaimed avocado toast connoisseur, I can confirm it is the perfect unexpected piece de resistance and perfect alternative to regular salt.

RAAW Juice Berry Blast Drink Powder

Delicious and nutritious! This drink mix is a full berry explosion. Unlike your typical juice, this is void of any additives, including artificial sweeteners or added “flavour.” Mix with water for an instant perk-me-up. It’s the perfect alternative to yet another afternoon coffee and is packed with all the antioxidant rich berries like raspberry, black current, acai and more.

RAAW Juice Veggie Power Drink

Hold the phone! It’s a veggie drink that doesn’t take like last night’s dinner! It’s a miracle! Skeptical of the beetroot, carrot, broccoli, (among others) combination, I wasn’t sure what to expect when trying it out, but turns out it’s a new favorite. It’s perhaps the most convenient way to up your veggie intake, with one sachet containing 1.5 servings of veggies. Drink it on its own or add to a smoothie.

Supergreens and Supergreens + Cacao

If you’re ready to get serious about your superfood intake, this is your new BFF. Combining 14 nutrient dense superfoods and the antioxidant rich cacao takes this product to the next level of nutrition. Also rich in magnesium, this supports heart health, muscle strength and supports bone health. Add to your regular smoothie mix or create an all-new chocolate-y “milkshake” for an authentically guilt-free, but delicious nutrient boost.

Kale Powder

Powdered Kale Brownies? They`re a thing. #recipe #holiday #brownie #healthy #kale #cacao:

The all-mighty kale continues to reign supreme in the super food world! Don’t worry if it’s not your favorite. This powder form allows you to sneak it into pretty much anything with 1 teaspoon equalling an entire serving of kale. It’s an incredible source of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as a rich source of iron, calcium, magnesium, lutein and beta carotene. Being incredibly versatile means you can add it to everything from a brownie recipe, to smoothies, to chilli!

Wholefood Smoothie Berries and Vanilla

Creating the ultimate can be a full kitchen production. From gather the countless ingredients needed to make a filling option, to the actual making of the smoothie, and the clean-up, it can all be too much to deal with on-the-go. That’s why we’re consistently reaching for the various RHSF smoothie options.
