If you've been keeping up with our blog, then you know this month we've focused on the four pillars of our company: pure, green, safe, & fair. We've reached our final week, which means our focus is on what "fair" means to us. Everyone works hard to make a living and in one way or another, we all benefit from the collective contributions of the global work force and economy. At Vitarock, we believe that everyone's efforts should be honoured faily. It's important to us that we promote products that give back to the community they're produce in, contain ingredients that are fairy traded, and aren't made in sweatshops or by child labour.
Philanthropy: We want to do our best to change the fact that the world's abundance of resources aren't distributed fairly. Therefore, a percentage of every sale made at Vitarock is donated to a Canadian registered charity. We currently donate these proceeds to a charity called Elephant Thoughts.
Elephant Thoughts improves the lives of children (and thus the future of the global society and Planet!) by supporting their personal development, facilitating access to quality education, and improving their communities socially and ecologically. Elephant Thoughts helps to facilitate accessibility to proper education for children all around the world and particularly across Canada in more than 75 First Nations and Inuit communities, Nicaragua, Tanzania, Nepal, and India. They help to bridge cultural exchange and understanding between Western societies with Aboriginal communities and foreign nationals. Cultural diversity and environmental stewardship are celebrated and encouraged in the curricula and personal development of students is prioritized. Elephant Thoughts was founded in 2002 by a group of professional educators including teachers and principals. It’s a registered Canadian charity. It’s a registered Canadian charity with fully disclosed annual revenue.
Proud to be Canadian. Supporting Canadian companies is important. Vitarock.com promotes Canadian companies that grow their own ingredients or source them locally. Look for the Canadian Company icon in the product descriptions to support our country’s burgeoning businesses.
